Barry Douglas and Camerata Ireland have recorded all five of Beethoven’s piano concertos to much critical acclaim. This concert features No. 1 in C, dating from 1795 and showing Beethoven’s assimilation of the styles of Mozart and Haydn and also the celebrated Concerto No.5 in E flat, known as the Emperor, first performed by the composer in 1811 – unmistakably Beethoven!

This celebratory concert pays homage to Beethoven in this the 250th anniversary of his birth with a performance of his iconic Fifth Symphony and the Triple Concerto. Joining Barry Douglas as soloists, we are delighted to welcome two other major international artists, the Russian-born violinist and conductor Dmitry Sitkovetsky and the American cellist Lynn Harrell, both in the highest echelon of today’s performing artists.
