Dr. John King Print E-mail
John King is President of Camerata Ireland. He has more than thirty years experience in the pharmaceutical industry having joined Galen Pharmaceuticals in 1979 after an academic career at Queens University Belfast. As Chief Executive he led the company’s listing on the London Stock Exchange in 1997 and as Executive Chairman on the Nasdaq National Market in 2000. Following the acquisition of Warner Chilcott Inc. in 2000, Dr. King directed his attention to the transition of Galen into a United States speciality pharmaceutical company, focused on women’s health care and dermatology therapeutic areas. This culminated in the rebranding of the company to Warner Chilcott Plc. In 2004.

Dr. King resigned as Chairman of Warner Chilcott following it’s acquisition by a private equity consortium in 2005 and continues to act for the company as a non-executive director.

Dr. King holds B.Sc., Ph.D. and Honorary D.Sc. from Queen’s University Belfast and is a member of both pharmaceutical societies of Nothern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
