P.S to Haiti Fundraiser
‘the dynamic Douglas led with his usual energy and aplomb’
so said  The Sunday Business Post  of Barry Douglas who performed with and conducted some of Ireland’s finest musicians who like him gave of their time and talent to make this a sell out show at the National Concert Hall Dublin that raised over ?44,000 for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

Review from the Belfast Telegraph
Douglas’ s return to Belfast a triumph (Jane Hardy)
Barry Douglas and Camerata...returned to Belfast in triumph last night .....The first (piano concerto) in B flat, and the second in F, both started with march-like scenes. Barry Douglas conducted with real enthusiasm and played with commitment, bravado and brio.
But they saved the best until last. Piano concerto number 20 in D minor has the sort of symphonic drama that might not be out of place in Beethoven. The contrast between some of the descending string passages and the piano’s delicacy was magnificent. The second movement started out with a placid theme but returned to high drama, soloist and players gave a stunning account of the fast and furious final movement with its return to the major key and safety.

Compose Yourself students re-unite at Ulster Hall
Barry Douglas was delighted to be re-united with many of the young people who had been part of the Compose Yourself project that was televised on the BBC earlier this year. There were smiles all around when he met up with them after the Ulster Hall concert and he was clearly delighted that they had taken time out from their busy exam preparations to be there for the start of the 2010 International Series.
